Les Saisons is a surefire standout release in the Hypnovizion oeuvre, a touchstone monolith that stands as a testament to what the future of electronic music has in store for us. There are many different artists who sound like BRVMES, but all the same: BRVMES indisputably sounds like no one else. He has carved out a lane that is entirely his own and has remained dedicated to releasing music that is destined to break new ground and shatter all expectations of what any one genre should sound like.

EP opener "Doom" sufficiently gives any newcomer to BRVMES all the reason they would need to see why he's truly a force to be reckoned with. He can't be confined to any one genre but instead he unleashes hellish drums, richly textured atmospheres, and mind-bending sound design from the darkest annals of bass music, goth, techno, electro, and darkwave among others. Comparison is the thief of joy but even the most discerning listeners could agree that "Doom" would sound perfectly at home in any Boys Noize set. It comes replete with a propulsive, supremely danceable beat which is accented by forward-thinking production. All of this successfully pays homage to the essence of warehouse-ready, Boys Noize-esque German techno while also launching it right into the future.

"Into Me" is an eerie, deeply impactful affair that employs "Planet Rock"-era drums and zaps along with gobs of other percussive bits and bobbles that help create a perfect intersection between dark club music and 80's electro funk. This tune reveals a pliable versatility as an artist from BRVMES that is rarely seen or heard today. The manner in which he moves effortlessly between genres, generations, and aesthetics is something that needs to be heard to be believed and it's all on display perfectly within the banger that is "Into Me".

"Warped Minds" is BRVMES' clear and concise stab at straight down the middle club music. No one would bat an eyelash at hearing this bop tear up nearly any Vegas dance floor. That's not to say it still doesn't come packed with ample darkness but this is a tried and true future club classic. The buildups call back to BRVMES' French electro roots but "Warped Minds" can hardly be distilled down to just that: the second drop alone is nothing short of incendiary and harbors only the freshest, most creative sounds in the BRVMES arsenal. If you're looking for the most club ready track on Les Saisons, you've most certainly just found it.

By the time you get to "fear is the mind killer," the journey BRVMES has set out to take us on shows no sign of slowing down or becoming any less adventurous. This tune finds him dipping his toes ever so lightly into the riddim pond via reverbed out midtempo drums and a wildly intense hard techno buildup...if you think that sounds bonkers, trust and believe that it makes far more sense than you might imagine. Every track on Les Saisons shines a bright, beaming spotlight onto BRVMES' unique ability for smooshing genres together and "fear is the mind killer" is no exception to that rule. This is genre experimentation at its finest.

Once "LOCKED" locks in, there's no going back now: you will be a BRVMES' fanatic. From this track alone, one could easily see why our Space Mom Rezz has quickly become a fan (and collaborators on "HOW I DO IT" from her last record, As The Pendulum Swings). You'd be hard pressed to pick what's arguably the hardest hitting track on Les Saisons but make no mistake: "LOCKED" snatches that title in spades. There's even a playful switch-up in the beat midway through that all but dares you to try and not cut a rug. Once the final kicks ring out at the end of Les Saisons, it's hard to not feel like you've just been transported to another place and time. Albeit a darker one, perhaps, but there's no doubt that BRVMES has just taken you on an unforgettable aural excursion that will have you clamoring for the repeat button.
