Shadient

A familiar face to some and a new one to others, Shadient pushes boundaries in his own sound and subsequently in the electronic world. Breaking into the scene in 2014 with a sound that defined a genre in electronic music, the 27 year old artist based out of Essex has long dedicated himself to crafting a sound that is truly his own. Whether it was the heavy and distorted electronic tracks of his early years or the introspective and melancholic pop he created during 2020, Shadient’s sound has always been something uniquely expressive to him — more interested in self expression than in riding trends. This relentless dedication to self expression has garnered him support from luminaries such as Porter Robinson, Rezz, Madeon, RL Grime and more.

These past two years have seen a return to form for Shadient. In his words:

“I took a little bit of a break from electronic music the past few years, taking time to write and release some more introspective pop music. While I enjoyed that, I think it’s good to have some music that sounds like a middle finger. The new stuff is defined by a sound that’s visceral, violent, and rough around the edges –immensely heavy tracks meant to be played out at high volumes.”

The arsenal of music he’s released lately backs-up that sentiment with releases on heavyweight labels such as Sable Valley, Pilot, and Mau5trap along with a collaboration with Rezz for her IT’S NOT A PHASE EP and remixes for Feed Me and Nitepunk.
